Aso-Kuju National Park
Aso-Kuju National Park is called the treasure of Japan. There are 2 mountain groups located on the vast territory of the park, and between them there are picturesque plains with forests, fields and lakes of amazing beauty. The Japanese were able to preserve the local flora and fauna and make it a way to attract tourists from all over the world.
General information
Aso-Kuju National Park is located on the same island of Kyushu, and it got its name due to the highlands and the Aso volcano, which is located on it. Almost everything in the natural park appeared many, many years ago, and the reason for everything is volcanic activity, volcanoes do not sleep here even now, perhaps this attracts travelers here. Aso Volcano is the largest active volcano in all of Japan (there are a lot of volcanoes in Japan). Its height is almost 1600 meters, inside its caldera (a ring-shaped mountain formation, a volcano basin) there are five peaks and more than 50 thousand people live.
Another mountain system of the Aso-Kuju National Park is the area of Mount Kuju, its highest point is 1887, it is the highest point on the island. It can be reached by a well-laid route, there are trails to other mountain peaks and to the highest active volcano on the island of Asosanu. But such hikes in the Aso-Kuju National Park are recommended for physically prepared people who do not have problems with the respiratory system. Volcanoes emit steam, ash and other vapors with a composition dangerous to humans. The last eruptions were in the 90s of the last century.
Attractions
In addition to volcanoes in the Aso-Kuju National Park, you can visit mountain resorts with healing hot springs. They not only heal the body, but also delight guests with beautiful views and comfortable conditions. For those who still want to see volcanoes, but do not have sufficient training, it is recommended to visit the Aso Museum. It features various exhibits, including images of volcanoes from space, as well as a screen that displays video directly from the crater of an active volcano, allowing you to observe its activities from a safe distance.
Lovers of beauty can admire the beautiful azalea kirimisa in the Aso-Kuju National Park, it grows only here, and many strive to have time to admire its flowering, or just stroll through the park and enjoy the pristine nature. For convenience, there are good transport links to the city of Kumamoto, which is closest to the park.
