Aso-Kuju National Park

Aso-Kuju National Park is called the treasure of Japan. General information

Aso-Kuju National Park is located on the island of Kyushu, and it got its name due to the highlands and the Aso volcano, which is located on it. The volcanoes do not sleep here even now, perhaps this attracts travelers here. Volcano Aso is the largest active volcano in all of Japan (there are a lot of volcanoes in Japan). Its height is almost 1600 meters, inside its caldera (ring-shaped rock formation, volcanic basin) there are five peaks and over 50 thousand people live.

Another mountain system of Aso-Kuju National Park is the Mount Kuju region, its highest point is 1887, it is the highest point on the island. It can be reached along a paved route; there are trails to other mountain peaks and to the highest active volcano on the island of Asosan. But such hikes in Aso-Kuju National Park are recommended for physically fit people who do not have problems with the respiratory system.
