Macau Grand Prix Museum

History

The Macau Grand Prix Museum opened in 1993, the opening was timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Macau Grand Prix. A few words should be said about the famous Guia Circuit, where the best racers on the planet compete annually. In Macau, racing began in 1953 and at first local racers competed in them, this continued until the 1970s, when the then famous racer Bianchi arrived in Macau and took part in the Grand Prix. From that moment on, more and more stars began to come to the city, which ultimately led to the start of F1 racing in Macau. The route is located in the south of the city and runs straight through the city streets. Distinctive features of the track are the presence of many high and low sections of the track where you can make short accelerations. The track in Macau, according to racers, is considered one of the most difficult on the planet. In addition to F1, the track hosts F2, F3 and various motorsports races.

Features of the Macau Grand Prix Museum

The Macau Grand Prix Museum recently completed a major renovation, which included restoration of all four floors of the building. The museum contains portraits of famous racers who made a significant contribution to the development and popularization of the Macau circuit, among them: John Corsmith, Teddy Yip, Ayrton Senna and other great people of the world of motorsport. The museum is designed in such a way that the visitor, entering each room, gradually gets acquainted with all stages of the development of the Macau Grand Prix. The ground floor of the Macau Grand Prix Museum features a collection of photographs and videos dedicated to the winners of the Macau Grand Prix, as well as panels with information about the circuit.

Copies of the cars are located on the second floor, where the F-1, F-2, F-3 cars are located. The third floor is entirely dedicated to motorcycling and replicas of motorcycles that participated in Macau races. The fourth floor shows the visitor interactive races of the Macau Cup. In China they say that car racing fans should definitely visit Macau at least in their lifetime and attend the Macau Grand Prix, held here annually.
