Nahanni

Nahanni is a national park in the Mackenzie Mountains in Canada. It was founded in 1976, and in 2009 the territory was increased several times, bringing to 30,000 km2. Translated, the name of the park means "soul".

Nahanni

Nahanni Park is famous for its 90-meter-high Virginia waterfall on the South Nahanni River, and here you can also meet thermal springs, tundra territories, many caves with many underground rivers. Near the Reg-Range, thermal springs formed lime terraces, the height of which reaches 30 meters.

According to rough estimates, more than five hundred Grisli bears, a herd of Caribbean, as well as alpine white deer, goats and sheep live in the territory of the Nahanni National Park. Over 700 species of plants and 300 species of moss grow in the park. In general, the nature of the park is quite unique and in 1978 the park was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Nahanni

The first people on the lands of Nahanni Park appeared about 10,000 years ago. Traces of their stay were found near Lake Yokhin and in several more places in the park. Local legends say that the Nah tribe lived here, raiding downstream areas, but they quickly and mysteriously disappeared. In 1964, researcher Jean Poirel landed on a parachute 500 km north of Yellowknife, and then his teammate Bertrand Borde. Jean Poirel suggested going down the river in boats to explore possible routes for rafting. After he made several more expeditions, during which he found 116 skeletons in the cave. He named the cave "Valery" in honor of his daughter".

During the gold rush to Yukon, prospectors went through these lands in the hope of getting hold of. There were attempts to find gold in the park, but they did not find it, and after the headless corpses of prospectors began to be found in the valley, the area began to turn into legends. Subsequent years only added riddles. Soon, the area where the gold diggers disappeared was called the Valley of the Headless.

Valley of the Headless

Officially, the sad statistics of the valley began in 1898, when 6 people went here to search for gold, and no one else saw them. In 1905, the McLeod brothers and their friend went here to explore precious metal. After 3 years, 9 headless remains of people were discovered, they were identified only by clothes and amulets for good luck.

In 1921-22, another person disappeared. In 1932, Phil Powers was beheaded, in 1936 they reported the loss of headless Joseph Mulgelland and William Eppler in the valley. But the victims of the valley did not end there, the next missing daredevil is the hunter Khomberg, who disappeared without a trace in 1940. In 1945, another one disappeared, but in 1949 a police officer Shebah came here, for some reason, and they did not see him at home.

In 1962, an expedition of the scientist Blake Mackenzie advanced to unravel the secrets of the mystical Valley of the Head, and soon found their bodies. After 3 years, another group went here, but the result was the same. The public believed that the spirits of the valley, who do not want to share their wealth with people, were to blame. But the police believed that a gang was operating here, taking gold from prospectors and cracking them down by chopping off their heads. But the version could not confirm. The Indians said that the nipples are to blame for everything - local snow people. In 1973, more than 50 cases of meetings with a bigfoot were recorded, and everyone outlined it idioticly: huge growth, more than 300 kg of weight, and terrible stench. In 2000, climbers during the transition to the mountains saw a huge hairy creature that ran at a very high speed. But because of the experienced nightmare, no one thought of shooting him.

In 1978, a group led by Dr. Hank Mortimer, a researcher of anomalous phenomena, entered the valley. A main camp was set up near the valley. On the same evening, the main camp heard cries on the walkie-talkie: "A void moves from the mountains. It's horrible!";. The signal disappeared, a helicopter with soldiers was raised into the air, but they found nothing at the camp site. After 5 days, they found the decapitated skeleton of one of the participants. In 1980, there was another attempt to conquer the valley - Spiegel magazine sent 3 former soldiers to the death valley. Under the contract, they had to stay there for a month, but after a month they did not get in touch.

The next attempt to find out the reasons for the disappearances was in 1997. Military and scientists on the study of anomalous phenomena in armored vehicles with modern devices manufactured by special order went here. The first days in the valley did not see anything unusual. On the third day, a message came from the group about the impending fog, no more news came from them. Immediately the fog fluttered - the search group went through the entire valley, but they did not find cars, members of the expedition, wagons for living in the Valley of the Headless.

No one has figured out who and for what reason is killing people in the Headless Valley. Remains find headless, sometimes the head is lying nearby.
