Nizhnyaya Kama National Park
Nizhnyaya Kama is a national park of Russia located in the Republic of Tatarstan. The park was founded in 1991 on a territory of 265 km2. The border of the park runs near Elabuga and the Embankment of Chelny and Nizhnekamsk. The terrain is wavy, divided by rivers and streams, as well as divided into two by the Kama River, on which there is a hydroelectric dam, forming a large Nizhnekamsk reservoir. Further dams have been preserved by rare flood communities, where there are many ancient lakes that reach a length of 1,500 meters.
The park is located at the junction of the broad-leaved forest zone and meadow steppes. This arrangement gave a rich relief and biological abundance. For example, in the Kzyl-Tau tract, located in the Belous Forest, the southernmost habitat of the Siberian fir is located.
Rare plants grow in the park like jugs of clean white, cubes yellow, toothed straw. Some of them, like shoes, large-flower and pollen are in the Red Book. The typical inhabitants of the forest part of the park are: moose, lynx, badgers, proteins, marten; in rivers and lakes, you can meet beavers, ondatra, otter.
