Island of the Dolls
An ambiguous place on the whole planet can be safely called the "Island of Dolls" (La Isla de la Munecas), located in Mexico. This creepy place should be visited by tourists with nerves of steel, otherwise these innocent dolls, which were previously played by the most ordinary children, can "sit" in your head for a very long time.
The "Skeleton of dolls" is located in one of the districts of Mexico City. It is surrounded by channels that dissect this territory. In this terrible place, plastic dolls are hung on trees, which are simply mutilated.
This area, of course, has more than one legend about the appearance of these scary dolls. Some legend says that hanging these children's toys was originally started by a local resident back in the 50s of the last century, believing that they would protect him from evil spirits. Another version goes something like this: a girl drowned in a river near this area, and her dad hung dolls around the neighborhood so that the wandering soul would not be bored. Since then, for 50 years, Julio hung dolls on trees until he drowned in the lake.
The man's relatives acquired this island after his death and made it a real tourist center.
Nowadays, there are at least 1,000 different scary dolls on the "Island of Dolls", which are suspended from tree branches or nailed to them. Their appearance simply excites the blood, because dolls are usually associated with childhood, children, and joy, but the local picture is not like that at all. All of them have a terrifying, soul-stinging appearance with shabby clothes, missing various body parts, hair, eyes, etc. Maybe when they were hung, they had a completely different look, but after a while, it's just a picture from the scariest horror movie. It is this kind of attraction in Mexico that will not leave any tourist indifferent and will be remembered for a long time.
