Yonaguni Monument

The Yonaguni Monument is a huge formation that was found in the underwater world near the island of Yonaguni, which is the most extreme territory of Japan.

Among all the monuments of this state, the Yonaguni Monument is the most mysterious. This area was found in 1987 by local divers who were monitoring the life of predatory sharks. The amazing monument was immediately overgrown with a lot of controversy and debate among Japanese scientists.

The Yonaguni Monument is a series of stone formations, which include huge strata, as well as various pillars. They are located in the underwater kingdom, at a distance of 5 to 40 meters from the surface. The most notable formation was given the name "turtle" due to its resemblance to this animal.

Due to the strong underwater currents, diving to this Japanese landmark is not entirely safe, although this fact has not prevented this area from becoming the most famous for diving in Japan.

Some scientists believe that strong water flows, as well as the process of erosion, have transformed the ocean floor over the millennia, and that this monument is part of a solid stone cliff. But, according to others, this monument belongs to the hands of mankind, as indicated by a large number of smooth, straight edges and corners. If this opinion is correct, then the second question arises, why, by whom and for what purpose the Yonaguni Monument was erected.
