Miniatur Wunderland

Among all the attractions of Hamburg, the Miniature Wonderland is one of the main places. It represents the largest railway model. Since the length of the day is 15 minutes, after which the night comes, the room uses dynamic lighting, which changes color to simulate a change in the time of day.

More than two hundred thousand people live this whole interior, who show all kinds of stories from real and fictional life – these are all kinds of holidays, concerts, rallies, weddings, funerals, fire fighting and much more. There is a model with snow, with real water.

Throughout the exhibition there are more than a hundred buttons, when you press which you can set in motion a particular scene. All these processes are controlled using fifty computers controlled by the technician service. Sometimes, if something happens to an airplane or typewriter, an employee personally « saves » the situation.

In order for all ideas to come true, it took tons of gypsum, steel and wood. Today, about a thousand models of trains with wagons, hundreds of lanterns, trees, animals are used here. Having examined in detail the entire layout, you can feel like Gulliver among the revived midgets. Interest in this amazing museum is the same for both adults and children, so most often families come here. The miniature wonderland is located in the area of port warehouses, which allows it to visit millions of visitors a year.

During the tour, visitors are free to photograph and press all kinds of buttons, it is forbidden only to touch the figures with their hands. This model is admirable, primarily due to the skillful connection of many small parts into a single whole.
