White Desert National Park

The White Desert is famous for its amazing karst formations. 80 million years ago, the desert was the bottom of the ocean. Subsequently, the water left, leaving behind sediments from parts of marine animals such as snails, crabs, plankton, corals. Sand and white rock look very contrasting against each other. For thousands of years, erosion has been working on the rocks, and now we can see many unusual figures similar to: mushrooms, the head of a sphinx, partridges. The height of some sculptures reaches twelve meters. Many of the original natural sculptures were destroyed by careless tourists. Therefore, in 2002, this area was declared a national park of Egypt.

It is easier to get to the White Desert on foot or by a powerful off-road vehicle, as the wheels sink due to the soft sand. Travelers often set up tent camps here, so it's easier to admire the unique nature. In the light of the moon, all the figures look fantastic. But in order to get here, you need to get a special permit. Guides can easily help you figure out these nuances. Of the animals fennec, small rodents and gazelles collide here. You can also see camel caravans.
