Sable Island
The island of Sable is located near the Canadian city of Halifax. It is here that the hot Gulf Stream intersects with the ice currents of Labrador waters. This area is considered mysterious, even the most fearless captains are afraid of it. You can’t compare with the Bermuda Triangle, but this zone is one of the known anomalous territories around the world.
Scientists have long been interested in this island, which is a bad fame, and local taverns hear the stories of sailors that excite human blood. The natives never call this island by name, but prefer their folk names, which, in their opinion, are more suitable, among which « Atlantic tomb », « shipwreck island ».
Specialists who study this area found out that the island of Sable is growing in length by about 200 meters annually, while not changing its structure. Scientists argue that part of the island, which is located in the west, is constantly eroded under the influence of a very strong current. But the opposite coast, just the opposite, is constantly filled with sand hills, which, it is not clear how, form. All these facts are very curious and do not succumb to any laws of nature, which misleads scientists.
Here, the weather is vile all year round, which is accompanied by protracted fogs, cold rains. This island has the lowest altitude, as well as very insidious reefs. Also, a big trouble is the property, melons and reefs, disguised as the color of water. All of the above and makes it difficult to control a ship, which near the Saber Island, suffered a small amount. From here the picture becomes clear why among the sailors such terrible stories about this area are heard, which for centuries have been trying to get around it.
But there is one month a year when the weather on the Seable Island becomes favorable. It is in July that the ocean subsides, and the territory becomes available for landing boats. But, of course, there are not many who want to visit the lands of the island of Sable.
The sands of the island keep many secrets under them, which are associated with the death of a diverse sea transport, the remains of which this damned land has forever buried. The number of tragedies that have occurred on the island of the Sable for all centuries can only be guessed.
To somehow secure the way of the ships, on the island in the xx century, the Canadian leadership installed a weather station with a very strong beacon. To ensure the work of which, a team of twenty people lived here. But, later this station was forced to be transferred to automatic maintenance, since workers very often damaged parts of their bodies, stumbling over a variety of leftovers. The psyche also suffered from the people who lived here, who claim that at night on the island of Sable the ghosts of the dead roam and ask for salvation.
If you decide to taste the island of Sable, then first, think carefully, and, of course, stock up on all the necessary equipment for such an unusual fearless journey.
