Whitsunday Islands
Whitsunday Islands – is a Pacific archipelago in the middle of the Coral Sea that belongs to Australia. Its components are 74 islands that are adjacent to the world famous – Great Barrier Reef. This territory, with its white sands and luxurious palm trees, resembles a corner of the earth's paradise. The huge archipelago that arose so a million years ago was given the name Captain Cook, who was cursing nearby on that beautiful day, in honor of which he was named. The first inhabitants of these lands are the ngaros, who are remembered in the literature as the very first people of Australia.
These wonderful islands of Witsandi are very different from each other. Some of them – are just narrow stripes of sand, on which only one palm is visible, but others are represented by a huge territory, where chic resorts and even the local airport ( Hamilton Island ) are located. On one of the large islands of Witsandi, there is a popular beach among vacationers, which adorns photographs of almost all of the local tourists. It is a seven-kilometer deserted strip with pure sand. On an island called Deydrim, there is an unusual aquarium that is located, right in the open. Here visitors are allowed not only to see beautiful fish species, but also to feed.
The most important sunny shore of Witsandi is the Qualia, which is located on the pretty island of Dent Island. This is a unique island in Australia, where, in addition to natural wealth, also lures tourists a fascinating game of heli golf ( a game of golf by helicopter ). Every year, on this territory, the yachts of wealthy participants in the Hamilton Island Weekly Race regatta are grouped".
The northernmost island in the archipelago is Hayman, which is famous for a five-star resort, which is plundered as a vacation, many vacationers.
