West Lake
Lake Tai is the largest freshwater lake in Vietnam, located in the center of the modern metropolis, the capital Hanoi, on an area of about 2.3 km2. Tai Lake means "Western Lake" in Vietnamese. In all of Southeast Asia, this reservoir occupies the third largest area.
The 17 km long lake has the most expensive luxury buildings with numerous hotels, restaurants and living quarters, as well as palaces and temples of historical and cultural significance.
The beautiful lake is surrounded by pretty gardens, fragrant tea fields, and entire grain plantations. The entire territory of the lake is divided into 90 islands.
One of the islands of Lake Tai is home to Vietnam's most important attractions, the 4th-century Changkok Pagoda and the Kuan Than Temple, which are sacred sites for all Vietnamese Buddhists.
Tourists of this natural attraction can visit several amusement parks.
Here, Vietnamese people like to breathe fresh air in the morning and do morning exercises. In the evenings, the most famous people gather along the coast to enjoy the taste of local cocktails and wines. In the surrounding area to the lake, the whole atmosphere is saturated with romance, which is why this area is called a "dating place".
Couples in love often have romantic dinners here. You can taste local delicacies either sitting in the cozy restaurants on the shore, or right on the carpets spread out near the shore of the lake. Chefs offer shrimp pies, fish delicacies and even snails.
The wedding service aboard the floating restaurant is popular. Ships are used as restaurants and clubs. Here you can also take a walk on the water surface on catamarans.
Due to the historical spirit, the ancient culture of the population and the breathtaking scenery of the surrounding area, this area has become a great success among tourists. The best time to visit Lake Tai is the golden autumn, when the local landscapes take on a fabulous look.
