Al-Kasbah is a cultural zone in Sharjah, opened in 2000 as part of the creation of a leisure center in the emirate. The area is located on the waterfront, and this is one of the reasons for its popularity among locals and visitors of the third largest city in the UAE. It's often crowded here. History of creation
Initially, it was planned to launch an artificial canal with a length of 1 km and a width of 30 m, construction began in 1998. During the work, it was decided to design 4-storey buildings on both sides of the canal, roads and pedestrian bridges. The plan was implemented quickly: in 3 weeks, workers installed more than 500 drilling piles, and the pedestrian bridge was designed in 2 months. The project was completed in 2000, and then the opening ceremony of the Al-Kasbah took place.
Attractions
Cultural, business, entertainment, tourist centers, and a 9D cinema are located on the territory of Al-Kasbah. There are many cafes, restaurants and ice cream stands, there are attractions. You can buy handmade products and branded goods in the stores. After dark, the lights turn on, and the singing fountains stand out against this background. A light show is projected onto the wall of one of the buildings. A 44-storey skyscraper is a few minutes' drive from Rose Tower 1.
As this place has all the conditions for recreation, young people and families with children like to come here. Attention is drawn to the Ferris Ferris Wheel, which is also called the "Big Wheel", which offers a magnificent view. The highest point of the wheel is at a height of 60 m, the cabins are equipped with air conditioning.

From 16.00, abra – water taxis start operating, transport can be fully rented. During the trip, it is easy to enjoy the scenic panoramic view and see the skyscrapers of Sharjah. As an alternative to a water excursion, you can ride electric catamarans, which are designed for 3 people.
Events and exhibitions are often held in the Al-Kasbah cultural zone. The Maraya Art Center was opened to promote the talent of emerging artists, and you can see both the works of local residents and artists from other countries.

Al-Kasbah is located south of the center of Sharjah, near the Al-Majaz district. You should focus on Al Khan Corniche Street, which serves as the border of this area. You can get there by public transport: buses numbered E303A, E304, E306, E307 will do, you need to get off at the Al Qasba stop. You can get there by taxi, rented car, parking is nearby. Ramps and elevators are provided for the convenience of visitors with disabilities.
