Városliget Park
Varosliget Park is called one of the favorite places for walking by residents and visitors of the Hungarian capital. It is located next to Heroes' Square. Once upon a time, this territory was the hunting grounds of King Matthias, which was an impenetrable swampy area.
The history of Varoshliget Park
Under Leopold I, this territory was transferred to cattle pastures. In 1799, under Maria Theresa, the marshes were drained and trees were planted. A canal system was also laid. Currently, about 7 thousand trees, including quite exotic and ancient ones, grow in Varoshliget Park, which covers an area of 1 km2. It is located in the Pest area. This place is considered a favorite among all local and visiting tourists. People say that this particular area is the cultural center of the Hungarian capital.
In the summer, people usually rent boats and go to the artificial lake. When it's cold outside, the lake expertly turns into an ice rink, which attracts a lot of people.
Description of Varoshliget Park
The Botanical Garden and the Metropolitan Zoo are open in the park. According to most of those who visited the attraction, this is an amazing place. And one of the reasons that proves this is that more than 10,000 plants have been planted throughout the territory, and the zoo has houses for 4,000 animals. I must say that all the local fauna feels great. People have tried to arrange everything in such a way that an artificially made house is no different from natural conditions.
In addition, there is a Museum of Fine Arts and many significant monuments in Varoshliget Park. Comparing nature and everything that was created by human hands, it is impossible to say unequivocally what or who is better in their creation. Everything that nature has given us is transferred to eternity. Sometimes it happens that nature and man work together harmoniously, and the result of such a union looks attractive. This applies to parks, squares, and gardens. In one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, Budapest, there is an equally beautiful Varosliget Park.
