Jasper National Park

Jasper National Park - located in Alberta, Canada, 320 km west of Edmonton and 290 km northwest of Calgary. It was founded in 1907. Area - more than 10,800 km2. The National Park occupies the territory on the eastern slopes of Cordillera, while it combines the diverse in structure landscapes of the highlands of the Main and Front Range, as well as the foothills of the Rockies.

The park is the largest reserve in the Rocky Mountains and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Together with the other three National Rockies – Yoho, Banff, and Kutenei – Jasper forms a single protected complex.

From plants in Jasper National Park, pine trees, giant fir, Engelmanova spruce, larch and juniper are often found, which in British Columbia reaches the size of a tree. You can also see Douglas spruce here. This unique plant itself detects roll and slightly builds up wood on one side of the tree, balancing. Therefore, among this breed you rarely meet curves, shaken trees.

There are 69 mammalian species in the Canadian Rockies. Everywhere in Jasper Park you can meet moose, deer, mountain goats, crowds and an American wolf. Large populations of vapiti deer, grizzly bears, American marten, Canadian lynx, rosomach, beavers, tree porcupines, ondatra, red squirrels and large leagues also live here. In large numbers, there are all kinds of rodents: gophers, badgers, a flashed rat. About 200 species of birds live in the park.
