Laguna Verde Lake
Laguna Verde Lake is located in the southwestern side of Bolivia near the border of Chile. The base of the Linkabur volcano, which is approximately 6200 meters high, is the location of this wonderful lake.
The name it bears, translated from Spanish, means green lagoon. And this is not for nothing, because it really has a green tint, which is explained by the various rocks that form the bottom of the lake. These include both harmful fossils and noble ones containing heavy metals such as copper, lead, as well as calcium and arsenic. Laguna Verde is distributed at an elevation of 4,300 m. above sea level. Its area covers approximately 17 km2 (5.6 km long and 3.9 km wide).
This lake is also famous for the hot springs that are located on its territory. The main living creatures that have adapted to the harmful substances of the waters of the high-altitude Laguna Verde are plankton and bacteria. This lake is connected by a thin channel to the neighboring one - Laguna Verde. Every year, a large number of travelers visit the pretty region to admire the beautiful landscapes of Laguna Verde Lake.
