Brief description of the country
Costa Rica is a state in Central America with an area of more than 50 thousand square kilometers. More than 5 million people live in this area. The official language is Spanish.
Translated from this language, the name of the country means "rich coast". So Christopher Columbus called Costa Rica, but it turned out to be a delusion and there was little gold. Wealth is in nature. Flora and fauna are very diverse. There are 12 types of tropical forests. You can meet monkeys, puma, jaguars, porcupines, turtles and various types of butterflies. Flying fish, tuna and sailboats swim in coastal waters.
There has been no army in Costa Rica for almost 50 years. The country is safe. Here you can see volcanoes, surf, hike, paragliding, walk in national parks or the jungle. Travelers come here for adventure. There is a version that pirates used to hide treasures on the islands and bays of Costa Rica.
It is always warm in the country. The best time to visit Costa Rica is from December to April. During this period, the average temperature is +26°C. The rainy season starts in May. It continues until the onset of winter according to the calendar.
