Until 1935, Iran was called Persia. Civilization originated here long before our era. The country is located in Southwest Asia and covers more than half a million square kilometers. This allows it to be ranked 17th in the world in terms of area. The capital of the state is Tehran. The official language is Farsi, but many people understand English.

There are more than 60 peoples living in Iran, most of them profess Islam. You should dress modestly here. Men are not allowed to wear short shirts and trousers. Women should completely cover their arms and legs, skirts are allowed only long and wide. A cape should be worn over tight clothes. Beaches in Iran are separate for men and women.

Alcohol is banned in this country. Not only can you not buy it, but you can also bring it with you. It is best to visit the homeland of the great Persian poets from mid-April to early summer or from September to November. It is very hot in summer, the temperature can reach +50 °C. In winter, the temperature drops to -10 °C. The roads are very good. There is carsharing here, but it is not popular. You can travel by public transport or order a taxi.
