Cyprus is recognized as the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea by area and population. It is an island state with an area of more than 9 thousand square kilometers. The population is over 1 million people. Tourists from different countries come here every year.

The name of the island means copper in Latin. Metal used to be mined in this place. There is also a version that Cyprus got its name due to the cypress tree. These trees have been growing in the country for a long time. There are remnants of Neolithic settlements in Cyprus. You can visit the ruins of temples of ancient gods. It is believed that this is the birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite. Cyprus is also one of the centers of Orthodoxy. There are more than 500 religious shrines here.

You can come here with the whole family. The country is recognized as one of the safest in the world. You can walk in national parks, relax on beaches, surf or sail. For a beach holiday, it is best to come in the summer or autumn. Spring is suitable for outdoor activities. The warm weather is set in February. It is very hot in July and August.
