Cueva del Guácharo National Park
Cueva del Guácharo National Park is located in Venezuela. In the park with an area of 627 km2 a very diverse flora and fauna, an interesting mountain range that attracts tourists from all over the world. El Guacharo National Park is divided into two parts: the Black Mountains, where the Guacharo Cave and the Media Karipe River Basin are located.
The landscape of the area was formed millions of years ago, but the decision to create the Park was made in 1975. One of the attractions of Guacharo National Park is the gates of Miraflores - these are the Krasklons, elevated above the ground to 250 m. Not far from here you can admire the Salto La Paila Falls.
Guacharo Cave is named after the Guajaro birds living here and flying hunting at night. These flocks of birds make up an integral whole cave. There are about 18,000 thousand in caves. As soon as twilight comes, they fly out to get oil-rich fruits. From their own litter, guacharo build nests in caves. The cave is formed from a mountain sediment formed as a result of the drying of the sea, 10.5 kilometers long. The cave is divided into two parts: the first part is reserved for visiting tourists and the second, forbidden for tourists to enter. The huge size of the gallery halls, connected by narrow corridors, fascinate with their beauty. In the cave of El Guacharo National Park, breeds such as limestone, sandstone and chalk predominate, which mix with each other and create bizarre paintings.
Having visited the cave of Guacharo, tourists first enter the Humboldt hall, where large-sized stalactites with different lengths and thicknesses hang from the ceiling, many of them have names for church themes. Next is the Silence Gallery, in which it is really very hard to hear because of the placement on both sides of stones that prevent sound flows. The next – is the River Gallery, interesting in that made of clay. At the exit from the cave you can see many colorful fish. And finally, tourists have to get acquainted with the Precious Hall, which has three domes: the first is called Rolando, the second Hall of the Bell and the third is Four dogs, named because of the similarity of stalactites with four-legged friends.
