Cenote Ik Kil
The Mexican Yucatan Peninsula is famous for its many – canal lakes and cave complexes, which are located throughout its territory. The water in Ik Kiel is very pure turquoise. Through this shade, the sensor got the second name « Holy Blue Sensor ».
Due to the large content of limestone and plankton, black carps live here. The water temperature becomes 22-25 degrees Celsius, which contributes to comfortable swimming in the pond. It was believed that, having bathed in the lake-senote, Ik Kiel, acquired inner peace, insight, solitude with nature and was filled with additional strength and energy. Unlike other hayfields where diving is possible, Ik Kiel is only allowed to swim.
Legends say that it was here that the kings of the May tribe spent time with the beauties- concubines, enjoying the simultaneous enjoyment of the beauty of nature and woman.
