Cave of the Crystals
Not so long ago, an amazing cave was discovered in the Chihuahua desert, which belongs to Mexico. This find, located at a depth of 300 meters, contains the largest crystals, which are of natural origin.
The crystal Cave was discovered in 2000, although people had known about it since about 1794. Even then, mining of natural resources, including silver, zinc and lead, was actively carried out here. But the mine was closed at the beginning of the 20th century and eventually it was forgotten. It was only in 2000 that she was found by archaeologists, who certainly took up her research. The discovered find simply surprises with the size of the selenite crystals that are located there. These natural giants reach 15 meters in length, and their diameter is about a meter. Such natural giants weigh about 50 tons.
Professionals who studied the cave believe that the crystals were formed more than half a million years ago, covered with a layer of water. Their formation occurred at a place where thermal waters of different temperatures, saturated with oxygen, ran together. For thousands of years, such conditions have been optimal for the formation of crystals of enormous size.
Selenite also has another name, which sounds like "moonstone." This is a very beautiful type of plaster, which has the appearance of a white section, which resembles moonlight. This breed was named after the goddess of the Moon, who had the name Selena.
The crystal is endowed with many qualities, including healing and metaphysical. People who tirelessly admire this natural wonder have given the Crystal Cave the name "Sistine Chapel of Crystals."
But under the enchanting view, the cave also hides the danger that it can pose to people. This is facilitated by high humidity and high temperature, which is above 50 degrees Celsius. It is for these reasons that it is simply very unhealthy to stay in the middle of the cave for more than ten minutes without using special equipment.
Unfortunately, when traveling through Mexico, you cannot visit the Cave of Crystals and see this beauty with your own eyes. The incredibly large crystals of the cave can be admired from numerous photographs as evidence that they really exist. And as predicted, after completing their research work, this cave will be flooded with water, since pumping is an expensive business.
