Colombia

Colombia is considered the fourth largest country in South America and one of the most populous countries on the continent. It covers an area of more than 1 million square kilometers, and the population exceeds 50 million people. The capital is Bogotá.

The country is washed by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Colombia was named after the famous explorer Christopher Columbus. Here you can sunbathe on the beach, swim, climb into the deep jungle and conquer the snowy mountain peaks. The highest peak is Pico Cristobal Colon (5775 meters).

In Colombia, the tallest palm trees in the world grow, you can see a wide variety of birds. But you need to be careful when diving into the water, because many dangerous sharks live here. In the ocean waters there is a strong current, you should not swim far from the shore. The best time to visit Colombia is between July and August or mid-December, when Colombians celebrate their holidays. The rainy season starts in April and ends in June. Showers take place in November.
