Lençóis Maranhenses National Park
Lençóis Maranhenses is a Brazilian national park located in Maranhão. This area is not much higher than sea level and is covered with sand, which in places reaches 40 meters. In the rainy period, numerous lagoons arise between the sand dunes. The entire reserve covers an area of about 1000 km2, which is meagerly covered with vegetation. The reserve, in order to preserve this area, was organized in 1981.
The Lensois-Maranensis Nature Reserve has a great resemblance to desert terrain. This territory is regularly poured in early summer by numerous rains. Rainwater usually fills various valleys and gaps between dunes, forming blue-green lagoons. This place is famous for the living of water bodies. It is here that a fairly large number of fish live, despite the fact that sometimes water bodies dry completely. Ikru fish bring seabirds here.
In the reserve you can find landscapes that attract tourists very much. These are magnificent beaches with palm trees. The beautiful lake of the Lensois-Maranensis park is recognized by Lagoa-Azul, whose depth is 1.5 meters. But to enjoy its landscapes, you need to use the services of a local guide, as it hid well enough and far in the park.
The most beautiful area of the entire reserve – the oasis of Kemada dos Brutos, but to see it, it is necessary to overcome the path, which is 4 hours of time. The best thing to do is take a tour with this area in the evening, when the sun does not shine so brightly.
It is very convenient to get to the Lensois Maranjensis National Reserve from San Luis, from where bus flights run. The entrance to the park itself is free, but there is entertainment for which you will need to pay. Among the paid pleasures – cycling, as well as riding a sandboard.
