The Zhau Nature Reserve has impressive dimensions, because it covers at least 23,000 square kilometers, which is considered the largest forest reserve on the entire mainland. By 2000, the reserve was able to enter the UNESCO World Heritage List, and three years later the reserve became a conservation area, as it was combined with the rest of the protected lands. On the territory of this park there are various landscape territories, there are various rivers, high sections of river valleys, as well as elevations between rivers. The entire territory is actively protected.

But what is a reserve without animals? There are also plenty of them. More than a hundred species of mammals, almost 500 species of birds, manatees listed in the Red Book, pink dolphins, otters, jaguars and many other representatives of wild fauna. Once there is a river nearby, you can also meet water residents. Among them are turtles, which are under the active protection of the owners of the reserve. But one of the important reasons why tourists choose this particular place is an anaconda. The largest and yet uninvited snake venom lives on the expanses of this reserve. It can be seen live at a distance of several meters, get acquainted with its place of residence and not only. This is not the only snake in the reserve. There is also a South African bushmeister, which can reach 4 meters, but which is incredibly dangerous for humans. Nevertheless, the guard is actively monitoring the movement of this resident of the Zhau reserve, so the level of security here is at the highest level.

You can get to Zhau National Park with boats, and the road on a motor vehicle can take at least six hours. An ideal place for adventure tourists.
