Hyde Park

Hyde Park – is a wonderful royal park, which is located in the heart of the capital of England. London's largest park acquired its status as a royal in the distant 1536.

Hyde Park

As for his story, it originates from the time of the reign of Henry VIII, when he took this territory from Westminster Abbey and arranged a place for hunting here. Hyde Park became available to the public at Jacob I, which falls on the XVII century.

The subsequent king endowed the Rotten Row road, which crosses the park, with particular importance. Often, in the evening, under the light of numerous lamps, she was loved to walk by representatives of the English nobility, because she led from St. James's Palace to Kensington. In 1730, a pond was dug in the park, the shape of which resembled a snake. The lake was given the name « Serpentine ». And now closer to our time, a gallery with the name Serpentine is opened here, where the art of our time is presented.
